A little list of things I am NOT going to miss about Vienna:

A little list of things I am NOT going to miss about Vienna:

-paying for a glass of water when out at a restaurant, with the price of water being pretty close to that of soda, juice and beer.
-paying to use a public restroom.
-being that one awkward, tall guy who seems to be in the way no matter where I sit, stand or lay on the subway, bus or streetcars.
-not having a car
-all the stores closing early in the evening Monday-Saturday, anywhere from 5 to 7 PM, and not being open on Sunday. It is extremely difficult to find some grub late at night.
-having WiFi in very very limited locations
-being surrounded by cigarette smoke pretty much everywhere I go
-the language barrier, not only when trying to speak German but also when the Austrians attempt to speak English
-having to convert KGs to LBS, EUROS to USD, and KM to Miles

Internship

Pretty exciting news here, I will be interning for IGE Abroad this coming Spring 2012 semester. IGE is the company I am currently abroad with and am excited to do some marketing, social media, and recruiting for them. I just received my internship description and am pretty dang excited for it.

One week left here in Vienna...

there has been extremely great weather the whole time we have been here, but hopefully it snows at least once before we leave!!

we spent most of our time in the middle of the Old City where we visited the Christmas Market.

Had a little braised beef in a gingerbread sauce with some potatoes. Yummy!

We also got to go visit the site where Hitler was building a Nazi Party Rally Grounds (aka a Nazi City) a little outside of the city of Nuremberg. This site is where all the rallies, marches and speeches took place. Between 1933 and 1938, six large Nazi rallies were held here.

Hitler was building a Congress Hall to the dimensions of the Coliseum in Rome.

This is the inside view. The building was never completed despite having 1,400 workers working non-stop beginning in 1935.

Nuremberg, Germany

Just getting settled into our hostel here in Nuremberg, Germany. This should be an interesting place to stay given the name of the place, Let'm Sleep Hostel, and the interior decorating similar to THAT 70's SHOW. But regardless, I am back in Bavaria and am looking forward to the next couple of days. We already hit up the Christmas Markets here in Nuremberg tonight and had some delicious sausages along with some surprisingly good Chocolate Punsch.

Tomorrow, our director Kevin and his wife are going to show up around Nuremberg a little and take us to the spots where the Nazis used to hold rallies and other large functions. After that we are on our own to roam the city a little bit, maybe shop the Christmas Markets a little more before gathering for a group dinner. We are going to be here for a little over half the day on Saturday as well before heading back to Vienna.
